Should I send demos to other agencies while waiting to hear back from one?

Hi Voice Cat,
Great website glad I found it.
I just have a quick question. Long story short my hubby was fortunate that he studied with and had his demo done by the legendary Don Morrow. He is also fortunate that my 14 year old daughter has been in show business since she was 6 yrs old and has been with Abrams Artists in NYC. So right now Abrams has his demo and we are waiting to hear.
My quick question is I would like to do a mailing of his demo to other agencies and would like your advice on what a " brief summary" should consist of when I send the demo?
I would appreciate any help you can offer me.
Thanks,
Maureen Lucier

Maureen, thanks for writing.
My advice at this point is simple: if your husband's demo is at Abrams awaiting approval from their V-O department, wait until you hear from them before sending it out to other agencies. In essence, give them the right of first refusal before submitting it to other agencies.
If they pass, your "brief summary" is basically a cover letter. Keep it short and sweet, and explain what's on the demo. If he has a resume, attach it. Don't send any head shot--this is V-O, not on-camera. If you send it in CD form, make sure it's packaged professionally. If you send them a link to a website, make sure the website's professional-looking as well. If you attach it in an email, make sure your email letter is professionally written and proofread.
Tell your husband good luck for me, and break a lip!
