John's Voices.com Review

It all started with a call from a colleague. She said, "John, you would be great at this," as she went on to describe the Voices.com website and features. I was aware to an extent of voice acting but thought it was beyond me and only made available to the elite voices that you hear everyday on radio and television. Me being the reluctantly stubborn person that I am, I promised her I would at least take a look.

When I got to the website I was quite surprised at the number of regular people associated with Voices. In fact, there were even a few of my friends I've known throughout the years listed. That prompted me to look even further.

I found Voices.com to be quite easy to maneuver, very user friendly and a breeze to get around, and coupled with my colleague's relentless persistence (Thank you, Nancy G!), I joined. Now I'm not going to tell you it was all wine and wedding cake, but what I didn't know Voices.com provided with tutorials, insight, daily blogs and industry information that made the process very step-by-step.

You know I still remember, after about 2 weeks of constant auditioning, getting that first job. I was thrilled! People will pay good money for me to promote them? I questioned myself. And it's true and they are.

I'm a full-time voice actor now. I get up every morning wondering if today I'm going to be a singing squirrel, talking alien, or promote the next reality TV show and I look forward to getting into the studio everyday and I'm also pleased to know that there's a group of people dedicated to my success and not just another listing company.
