I'm Daniel Rucci a freelance video Producer based in Chicago and Boston. I produce for ad agencies and production companies and have had the luck of being busy enough this year that having Voices.com in my back pocket has been a life saver.
I found out about Voices.com through a colleague who handed me a New York Times article about the changing world of video production. The article highlighted some great resources online for creating really high quality content with new methods and online services.
Voices.com was the one service that immediately jumped out to me, and since it's essentially free to use, as a producer I was totally committed to trying it-- you always have to be trying new things in this business. It seemed like a simple concept--post your audition, listen to a few examples and select a voice.
I was doing a commercial for a major national brand this winter, when it dawned on me to use voices.com for the first time. I posted the tag line script and the rate on voices.com one afternoon, and walked away. Within several hours, I had more responses than I could imagine, and over the course of several days I believe I received over 100 auditions. It was amazing!
The best part was the amazing efficiency to me as a producer. I received over 100 auditions from a huge variety of talented artists, quite an eclectic mix including first-timers and storied professionals--what a treat!
With such limited time I was overjoyed that I didn't have to deal with CDs, online reels and an edit/assembly of an audition clip. I could send the samples to the client right off the bat with a little download and voila!
Credit Card processing was as easy as buying something online, and everyone was happy.
...it was almost too easy. So much for racking up days trying to coordinate voice auditions. Voices.com totally helped me be successful in this project; I have recommended it far and wide within my industry and I plan on using it again.
Keep up the good work guys.
