Hey Stephanie and everyone at Voices.com,
I just wanted to drop a quick line of thanks your way. I had heard of this happening but "never thought it would happen to me." I let my Voices.com membership expire. I let it expire because I simply didn't have the time needed to devote to auditioning that I felt I needed to have available to make a good go of it. My first and last year as a paying member was fruitful and the gigs I booked could have paid for many years to come. Again the reason I left was because of increased work flow (contracts with HBO Plus, Yelp.com and bing.com).
All of a sudden out of the blue I get an email from someone that HEARD A DEMO on VOICES.COM. I had no clue that my demos were even still posted or that I still had a page over there. They heard a demo and presented it to a major author who has a major book coming out. They booked me for the trailer. This was made possible by the practice of not deleting (or hiding) someone's page on the site during a "paying" membership lapse. If THAT doesn't make the value of membership VALUABLE, then>>>>!!!!!
And now the end of the story. They took longer to pay than had been discussed. I contacted them after sending my file with no watermarking. They assured me that approval was on the way from the author and just to give them two more days. I did and no word. I contacted Voices.com not because I wanted my money but because I wanted to see if there was a time limit imposed on clients for payment. I was told that you all have a process in place for this kind of thing and that you all would check with the client... (they are a great production company by the way and were fabulous to work with) Less than 24 hours later permission to release the funds was granted. I appreciated the tag team approach as I really didn't want to irritate these producers by hitting them up over and over again.
So that's it. Just a thanks for not deleting my page, for being there and ready with great customer/client service and just for providing so many valuable tools to the voice over community.

Rock on!

Very encouraging. I can see why you get hired. I loved your demo Mike. Thanks. p.s. Mike is a great name for a VO artist. Bet u get that all the time.

I also got hired this weekend by someone that had just listened to my profile demos, and it's for a 4 figure sum! So I'm really happy to pay subscription to voices.com :)

Way to go, Mike. Thanks for sharing and thanks, too, Voices. I had a similar experience recently for an animation narration!
