Wow, I just did the calculation today and realized I've received over $15,000 of voiceover work through clients finding me on Voices.com!! Granted, it's been 2.5 years, and about $9,000 of that came from one returning client, but hey, they found me on Voices.com!!
I've been a member since late 2007 or early 2008. I remember it felt like no one was listening to my auditions and I was wasting my time. I had several cases where I was in the running and then they "went with the other guy." Discouraging. Then I recalled an old voiceover pro who once advised me, "Voiceover is a numbers game. I audition at least 50-60 times, and then book one job. Auditioning IS the job, doing the gig is the fun." Yep.
I booked my first job through Voices.com on July 14th, 2008 for Gearshift Studios. What a great feeling. Since then, there have been hot months and slow months. Those first few years, when the Voices.com Membership Renewal came due, I remember seriously wondering if it was worthwhile to pay the fee. Now I'm a believer. Athabasca University, The Mosaic Company, The University of Minnesota and Xhale are just a FEW of the clients who found me on Voices.com and have used me time and time again without even opening it up to other talent for auditions. But they FOUND ME initially at Voices. Thank you!!
Stephanie, I LOVE Voices.com, because it's a site where it feels like you're actually trying to HELP the talent GET WORK, instead of just TAKING THEIR MONEY, like so many other sites. There are so many resources and tips and things on Voices.com that it's overwhelming and I've barely scratched the surface!!
Thanks for always being ahead of the curve and keeping us in the loop on the latest business trends. Your service is invaluable, I recommend it to others, and I look forward to meeting more long-term, returning clients through your site!
