A Big Fan of Voices.com Talks About Hiring Talent

Last week, I had the opportunity to speak with someone who had used the site to audition, cast and hire a professional voice artist.

Adam Roop of Jacob Tyler Creative Group joins me in this interview, discussing how he found the site, what mattered most to him as a client using it and why he chose the talent he did.

Stephanie Ciccarelli: How did you find voice talent in the past and why did you choose to search online for this particular project?

Adam Roop: I found Voices.com by doing a simple Google search for voiceover. With our tight deadline, we realized our local resources couldn't accommodate us in time, so we were looking to perhaps direct a voice over session over the phone or thru Skype.

SC: What specifically made you choose Voices.com?

AR: Website design. That's what we do here, so when I see it done well, no matter what the business, I am drawn to it. It was easy and intuitive and I got the results I wanted immediately without having to commit or give any credit card information.

SC: Of all the features on the site, what did you find to be most useful?

AR: The short samples that the voice talents provide in their responses. This was invaluable - it's one thing to hear their demo reels, but to actually hear your words with their voices is feature that I wouldn't have expected from an online voiceover service - especially free of charge.

SC: What was the most important aspect to you when hiring? For example, was it the voice, the interpretation of a script, the cost, etc.

AR: When selecting our talent for this project, it was critical that she get the tone correct and that she got it right the first time. Kelsie Clark did both. Her price was also the most competitive, but that was not the most critical thing for us.

SC: What would you say is the greatest benefit to you as a customer when using Voices.com?

AR: Speed and cost, with Speed being the most important in this instance.

SC: Lastly, what was it that set Kelsie apart? How did you know that she was the talent you wanted to work with for this project?

AR: Specifically, there was just the right amount of youthful attitude to her voice without being cynical or snarky. We are a big fan of your service and it is great to know that we have these resources available to us in the future.
