Here it is June, and I just booked an IVR job I auditioned for in February...of LAST year!!
That's another one of the great things about Voices.com...not only is it easy to use and gives you access to all kinds of jobs, but you never know when your next gig is right around the corner!
The audition process is a lot of work, but if there is one thing I have learned during my 3 years with Voices.com, it's that if you keep pluggin' away, good things will happen!
Thanks!
Zack Taylor

That is the best news I have heard in a long time, that gives us all hope , Thank you Zack.

That's pretty wild. I haven't had anything span that long, but you're about plugging away. As long as you forge ahead some unexpected things definitley happen.
For instance: I had posted my audiobook demo and a couple of weeks later received notification that I had a private audition opportunity through another site. I secured the gig and asked how they'd found me. The publisher mentioned she heard my demo on Voices.com. That one audiobook job has turned into a multi-book series.
So, get your demos up and audition daily for what you're right for and the opportunities will come from the most unexpected places!

I'm so glad for you that your time has come brother. for me i just want to be able do even one voice job ever for the first time.but $$ block hit hard seems not to be possible to get a start without having two or three thousand dollars to sink down into an investment. me being poor can't get a shot because of the demo thing$$. any one just interested in a person with a natural burning desire to want to do this and give them a break or what around here? hey can man can you holla back? peace Kev.

I need help getting even one first gig ever! many roadblocks. how do you all get them voice over jobs any way i need one. people should see what i can bring.poor people have talent too ya know.

I WISH!!

A few weeks ago I was perusing the jobs and saw one that I would normally not audition for. The direction asked for the read to be "very emotional" (it was a narration). I did the audition as a goof, basically to have some fun and make myself laugh. I got the job.

Did the commentary for a Platinum edition of a DVD

I am plugging away...

Yes, I have my first VO job on Monday. I was asked to do it by an animator who was on set of a short film I was in. Very unexpected!

When i was broke and hungry, in nashville, the salvation army was promoting their housing program, they needed a voice-over done. i was only at there offices getting a clothing chit, making conversation about show biz when they over heard me and hired me on the spot. i also got the clothing chit.

lucky lucky you. i need my first ever voice job. so i can know what it feels like to have done it let alone even be paid for it.
