Voices.com is easy and effective!
I auditioned for a voice mail job and got hired. I expected to get a new script perhaps and some direction from the client. There was nothing.
He took my audio from the audition and paid me. Short and sweet!
It's so gratification knowing that my audition was exactly what the client was looking for and he must have been so happy to have his project 'done and dusted' in nothing flat!

So, you violated one of the basic "rules" of protecting yourself on pay to play sites like Voices.com but lucked out - congrats. I don't think it is a good idea to provide the client with a non watermarked complete reading of the sample script. That is not an "audition", that is rolling the dice and performing the job on spec. They could just as easily have ripped you off and no one would be the wiser. Is this the new normal in the race to zero? Are we all now going to wink-wink nod-nod "save the client valuable time" by providing ready to use content with fingers crossed?
