It's rare, I think, for a home-studio VO to be involved in scripting. The job was a warm-up for a top-line American stage psychologist (no names, no red faces!) who said in the audition spec if you can improve the script go ahead.
As we all know, most copy needs sub-editing and much is not truly written for voice, even when it's come from a pro agency. So, grabbing the chance, a full rewrite on the demo, with half the word count of the original!
