June was a great month for me with Voices.com.
It started by my booking a job with project manager Sean Mancuso for USpecial in Canada. Great thing is that the client wanted me to do both the French and English version.
Almost immediately, I saw a deposit arrive in my mailbox for another job, this time with Grant Thomas to narrate a heavy machinery e-learning session. Hey, I love heavy machinery!
It was great just explaining things to the workers and I got to learn a few things along the way to about safety.
As I was attending APAC in New York City (for the audiobook industry in which I also have a thriving career) I gave Grant a call to get some detail I wasn't sure about. Well, turned out that another client had just listened to my heavy machinery narration and liked it enough to immediately grant me another job if I so chose to accept it. At this point I figured that with a name like Grant, Mr. Thomas was just in the business of handing out jobs. Turns out he is!
And I've enjoyed developing relationships with a few of the project managers at Voices.com now, like Amber and Sonja. Ended up booking 5 jobs that month and although I'm based in New York City, it's a real pleasure partnering with fellow Canadians at a great company. And all of this as the movie The Fault In Our Stars in which I have a lovely cameo got released and went right up to being #1 box office on its first weekend.
What a month! Gratitude and joy fill my heart.
