Talent Agencies Embrace Web Services, Streamline Voice Casting Process

Agencies using Voices.com are able to give talent their own websites and manage all aspects of the client relationship, even auditioning for voice-over work.

Toronto, Canada (Voices.com) July 17 – In business, time is money, which is why talent agencies are looking to online sources to simplify and maximize their efforts to promote their talent pool. The global phenomenon of voice casting online has triggered a nerve with talent agents, realizing that if they are not at Voices.com, they and those whom they represent are missing out on where the future of the voice industry is headed.

Traditional agency talent promotion methods consist of couriering packaged CDs with voice talent recordings and waiting upon faxed agreements to arrive. With as many as 300 talents being represented by an agency, the time and effort required to manage talent severely stretches the agencies resources. Many agencies also do not have websites, the lack of which is incredibly detrimental to their success in the new world of voice casting.

Voices.com has solved this issue for numerous talent agencies, giving agents a platform where they can easily maintain their talent roster, voice demos and accurate descriptions. Listening to a voice is as easy as clicking a play button.

Voices.com CEO David Ciccarelli says, "We offer an alternative to traditional casting methods and other breakdown services that do ‘everything’. Talent agencies still manage the entire client relationship, submit auditions on behalf of their talent and negotiate fees and terms of service.”

Specializing in work for voiceover professionals, agencies are presented with qualified opportunities on a daily basis. Many are familiar with online breakdown services, and registering their talent at Voices.com is a logical progression that will help them to streamline their costs and activities.
Voices.com has 40,000 users and hosts more than 5,000 voiceover talent. Click here to learn more about Voices.com.

Voices.com Aims to Standardize Rates for the Voice-over Industry

Industry professionals brainstormed the foundations of a new rates sheet for the voice-over industry at the VOX Daily blog.

Toronto, Canada (VOICES) July 10 – After the dust settled on a whirl of over 40 comments contributed by veteran voice actors, seasoned voice talent, and career voice professionals, a new standard rates sheet has emerged for the voice-over industry called, The Voices.com Standard Rates Sheet.

In a blog post on VOX Daily, one of Voices.com’s official company weblogs, talent were invited to rate the current non-union standard rates as created by the company in previous years as a resource, providing advice on which rates needed to be raised or added to better reflect the wide spectrum of voice-over work available.

Union and non-union professionals made their thoughts and opinions known about the hot button issue of what to charge for their voice-over services. The majority concluded voice-over is a product and that the price for should be on par with the rates of unions such as AFTRA and SAG. Many agreed that non-union talent who demonstrated the same skill level and talent as their colleagues in the union should be the compensated equally for their work.

VOX Daily editor, Stephanie Ciccarelli says, "The conversation was vital and a learning experience for many. Whenever a client needs assistance budgeting for a voice-over or a voice actor wonders what they should be quoting, they will find the answers they are seeking on the new Voices.com Standard Rates Sheet.”

The Voices.com Standard Rate Sheet is a benchmark for the voice industry and is to be used as a resource for talent quoting or for budgeting.
