Cynthia Songé Peers into the Signature Voice in Voice Acting Performances

Industry expert Cynthia Songé explores a different side of the voice over "signature voice" debate, introducing new arguments that support the potential for a voice actor to have multiple signature voices so long as they ring true in the actor's performance.

Toronto, Canada (VOICES.COM) February 19 – Cynthia Songé, voice over instructor, voice actress and casting director, is this week's expert on the podcast Voice Over Experts, the most popular and subscribed to voice over podcast for beginner and professional voice actors. Together, Susan and Cynthia have co-authored “Word of Mouth, A Guide to VoiceOver Excellence, Vol. 3″.

This week, listeners are engaged by Cynthia Songé in her lecture "Debating the Signature Voice". Students discover that personality is a passport to individuality -- the individuality that is at the very core of a performance and the energy that people will respond to. There will always be different emotional responses for every project, but voice actors have to first know who they are and trust themselves to break free from the limitations that may be imposed by the past understanding that a voice actor only has one "signature" voice.

As a contributor to the Voice Over Experts Podcast, Cynthia Songé lectures on a regular basis, helping aspiring talent to understand, develop and succeed in the business of voice acting and voice overs. The lectures are available in the form of podcasts and are available for free subscription through the Apple iTunes Podcast Directory, to be enjoyed at any time.

Voices.com Conducts Entertainer's Secret Throat Relief Study

Voice actors and professional speakers from London, Ontario Canada are taking part in a study to test the American throat relief spray "Entertainer's Secret".

Toronto, Canada (VOICES.COM) February 6 – The experts at Voices.com are conducting a local survey with volunteers consisting of voice actors, on-air talent, and broadcast professionals in order to document the effectiveness of the Entertainer's Secret for high volume talkers. The throat spray (Entertainer's Secret Throat Relief) is a product of KLI Corp, a company based in Carmel, IN USA selling worldwide. President Gordon Schmitz graciously supplied the product samples imposing no restrictions on the survey.

Entertainer’s Secret resulted from a collaborative effort of KLI Corp and Richard Quisling, MD. Dr Quisling is an otolaryngologist (ear nose and throat physician specialist) in Nashville TN and his practice includes many performers whose very livelihoods are at risk whenever their voices are at less than their best. He had long been searching for a product that could protect the vocal apparatus and restore and maintain voice quality without doing harm. After trying various amounts of different ingredients, the final formulation evolved. It is registered with the FDA as a medical device.

As Voices.com is based in Canada and KLI Corp is in the United States, Kathy Thompson, an authorized Canadian Entertainer's Secret representative, is the person to contact about this spray in Canada. KLI also has representatives comparable to Kathy in Australia, Europe and other nations.

What is Entertainer's Secret? Entertainer’s Secret is to dry throat and hoarse voice what hand lotion is for chapped hands. When hands are exposed to weather or solvents or detergents, the skin loses oil and becomes sore and irritated. Rubbing lotion into the skin restores oil and does it more quickly than the body can manufacture replacement oil. Like hand lotion, Entertainer’s Secret is not a medication or a cure but it does help resolve the complaint. When Entertainer’s Secret is sprayed orally or nasally into the throat, it delivers moisture directly to the desiccated tissues and it also adjusts the viscosity of the thick mucus, thinning it out so it can flow the way it should.

Kathy Thompson shared, "I have been recommending and using Entertainer's Secret Throat Relief Spray for almost ten years now. As a singer, VO artist and vocal coach, I am thrilled to have a bottle with me at all times. My voice students also enjoy it. We need to be aware of things that can dry our voices out like alcoholic beverages, caffeine in coffee, or even the alcohol that lingers in our throats from gargling with mouthwash. It would be wonderful if everyone would learn more about the health of their voice so it will serve you for a lifetime - and to not take it for granted just because it has always worked on command, whenever we wanted it. Our voices need moisture and hydration for optimum ease of use. I think that "E.S." a truly excellent addition to the daily vocal regime of any voice professional! I hope that this survey will bring a new awareness about the need of health products for our voices. Since I am an authorized representative of Entertainer's Secret in Canada I will be very excited to hear the results from voice professionals thanks to this unique survey by Voices.com!"
