New York Casting Director Guest Stars on Voice Over Experts

  • October 29, 2010 /

doriane-elliott.jpgDoriane Elliott is a successful New York based voice over casting director and highly respected voice-over coach. Elliott's four week intensive courses and private lessons cover each step an actor encounters from the moment they walk through the door of an audition to the moment they leave the casting session.

Elliott makes a guest appearance on Voice Over Experts offering insights on the pros and cons of operating out of a home-based recording studio. Elliott encourages listeners to consider every aspect of studio recording to determine whether it's right for them. Elliott explains that voice over actors with home-based studios must have the technical know-how to operate recording equipment and the artistic capability to self-direct - attributes that are much more complicated than many people realize.

The Voice Over Experts podcast is hosted by Voices.com, the leading on-line voice over marketplace. Voice Over Experts features prominent voice over coaches from the US, Canada and abroad, offering free educational podcasts for beginner and professional voice actors.

Voices.com Releases New Service: Puts Talent on the Map

  • October 26, 2010 /

local_voices_525.jpg October 25th marked the launch of "Local Voices," a new service from Voices.com offering voice over talent the opportunity to market themselves directly to potential clients within their own cities.

Local Voices utilizes Google Maps, Bing Local, and Yahoo Local Search, employing local map listings, Internet yellow pages (IYPs) and local franchise advertising. Voice talent who sign up for the service are able to expand their online visibility and drive qualified contacts to their profiles so that they can work with local producers in addition to the online casting calls that the site already delivers on a daily basis.

Local Voices helps streamline the casting needs for producers wanting to work with local talent, saving them time and money in audition costs. Local Voices eliminates the need for 'cattle-calls', allowing businesses, producers, casting directors, and agencies to do the preliminary research online, pinpointing the voice over talent that they would like to work with in a local recording studio.

This service is available to members of the Voices.com website who are at the Platinum or Premium level. To be included in the Local Voices service, members log in to their accounts, fill out the Local Voices form, and follow the simple directions.

David Ciccarelli, Voices.com co-founder/CEO, says "Local Voices brings our online presence offline, expanding Voices.com's reach and enabling people to find talent through local searches on Google, Yahoo!, Bing and other prominent engines."
