Can you do an impression of one or several of the characters from The Simpsons?
Now is the time to let your character voice acting talent shine!
Enter the Voices.com Simpsons Sound Alike Challenge and may the best Springfieldite win!
Dan Castellaneta has provided the voice for Homer Simpson and a host of other characters on "The Simpsons", including Krusty the Clown, Grampa Simpson, Barney Gumble, Mayor Quimby, and Groundskeeper Willie.
In fact, Dan has the honor of being the voice of over 100 Simpsons characters over the years. In the early days of the program, the cast was given first dibs on auditioning for roles that were added to the show. If you've ever heard Dan, you know that he's full of voices and the number, while staggering, is not a terrible shock :)
While Dan's voice may be one of the official voices for specific Simpsons characters, we'd love to hear your impressions of Simpsons characters to feature on the VOX Talk podcast!
If you can do a bang on Homer, a killer Bart, Lisa, Marge, Krusty the Clown, or any other Simpsons character, we want to hear it!
Prizes of $100 gift certificates to Amazon.com will be awarded in the following categories:
Best Homer Simpson Impression
Best Marge Simpson Impression
Best Bart Simpson Impression
Best Lisa Simpson Impression
Best Krusty the Clown Impression
The winners will be chosen by YOU!
To celebrate, the winning MP3 Simpsons impressions will be aired on the VOX Talk podcast in a special Simpsons Tribute.
So to recap, here are the contest details:
- Record your best Simpsons character voice impression (between 30 and 60 seconds in length)
- If you're entering for more than one character in the prize categories, please send each character voice as an individual MP3 file
- Anyone can enter this contest whether or not they are registered with Voices.com
- Send the MP3 to stephanie@voices.com
- Contest deadline is Friday August 24th, 2007 at 11:59 PM EST
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Stephanie

I've just posted a job for a Castilian Spanish version of the "Spider Pig" song from The Simpsons Movie. The client noted in the job that he found a "fantastic impersonator for the LATIN version of the [song] on Voices.com"! I hope someone sends it in...
I loved the Simpsons Movie and the Spider Pig song just rocked!
Wow what a great idea! I just recorded the Homer sat nav voice this week as well after being asked for it. Hey and Donald Ducks out there?
Hi Everyone,
Thank you all for such a great response!
So far, we've received a number of entries for Homer, Lisa and Krusty, even a little bit of Marge.
Bart, where art thou....!
Compilation style demos are also arriving. They're hilarious to say the least :)
On another note, Spanish demos of the Simpsons are coming in too. If you are from a country outside of the US or Canada and are a great dubber of The Simpsons in your own language, feel free to enter too. The Spanish entry so far was for Homer from Argentina.
Another exciting element of this contest, because it is so universal, is that people from outside the voice over industry are also participating. I had a podcaster just this morning submit their entry who was referred by our good friend Donna Papacosta - thanks, Donna :)
Keep'em coming! You are all so very talented :)
Best,
Stephanie
I needed this... it's been a hectic week in the studio... DOH! I'm going to close the doors and be Homer for a while!! WHOO HOO!!

Wow, this is sooo customised to me !!! I'm just about to upload some stuff I've done for one of Australia's radio networks and hopefully you'll like it - aaaaaaaagghhhhhhh (slobbers).
I just sent in my Homer takes. Hopefully they fare well. This is a real cool thing that Stephanie and all involved has put together. They should do this more often.
Good luck to all with this.
Jon
Hi Stephanie
Well I just sent my Homer and Krusty impressions off to you.
I only just found out about the competition last minute so it's all been all a bit of a rush. Hope you enjoy the impressions, bit of a rough recording but you should get the idea!
