I'm a newbie. I've already read a lot, listened to the podcasts and audio lessons, and taken a workshop with Patrick Fraley. But this is one book I don't have, yet.

This was the first book on voiceovers I read. It's great for a newbie, but I am curious what has been updated for the second edition. The version I got had in it material about demo TAPES, and all about how to design your "J-card." I assume the new version talks about CDs and maybe a little more about the marketing of the VO craft?

Hi Stephanie,
There is ALWAYS more to learn, even for someone who's been in the biz for 3 decades--oops! not me, surely! I also have to put in a plug for the outstanding "Internet Marketing Plan for Voice Actors" which I purchased some time ago and read and re-read to pick up new info and tips. I hope I'll be doing that with Elaine Clark's book as well.

Stephanie,
I suppose lightning striking twice is out of the question. I would, however, love to have a copy of this book. I have read a lot of books on VO. This looks like a good addition to my library. I have listened to podcasts with her and even the teasers were helpful.

I'm an actor who is just beginning my journey into voice overs. I took Scott Brick's workshop in Sacramento at Nakamoto Productions on July 27. I'm making my demo in two weeks and am certain that Elaine's book would be valuable in my education re voice overs!

Elaine Clark's "There's Money Where Your Mouth is" is one of my favorite VO books in my library and reread many times. My book was published in 1995 and is full of real information needed such as chapter 5 "Making it M.I.N.E." ... digging beneath the surface of the script and bridging the gap between yourself and the character... helps the reader make the dialogue theirs and come alive. Nope, I don't work for Elaine or the publisher but highly recommend this new revision.

Hi Stephanie:
This is just the kind of book that I need. I'm trying to make a transition from being a career drama teacher to doing voice overs. There is so much stuff out there that I would love to have this book to help me to focus and learn from an expert to get my second career "outta the gate!"
