Randy Thomas and Peter Rofé's book highly anticipated book "Voice for Hire: Launch and Maintain a Lucrative Career in Voice-Overs" is quickly approaching it's release date and will soon be found in stores across the US. The book hits the shelves on September 30th, 2008!
Many months ago, I had the pleasure of corresponding with Randy Thomas as she told me about her forthcoming book (Voice For Hire). I'm glad that the release date (September 30th) is nearly here and I personally can't wait to get my hands on a copy of this book (I contributed some information from Voices.com and am excited to read what Randy and Peter included!).
According to the authors, this book is great for voice talent at any juncture in their career and or training, and as the newest voice over book on the market, it should be an interesting read for all of us.

Posted by:I had the pleasure of meeting both Randy and Peter out in LA at VOICE 2008, and the even greater pleasure of serving on the Professionals panel that was moderated by Peter. I have been waiting for this book to be released since hearing about it back then!
Posted by:Hey Stephanie!
I've been doing voice over for over 26 years (over and over), starting as a jock on a top 40 station. And every word of advice I can use, good-bad-or indifferent, is valuable. I heard an interview a couple years ago, Jim Bohanon with Randy, Joe Cipriano, and Don LaFontaine. Huge amounts of the "insider" information from Randy, Joe and Don. I can imagine she's done it again. And, Doug, only salivate over the mic with a proper "spit guard", otherwise you'll ruin the diaphragm.
Happy Tuesday and best of luck and skill!
Bryan Mix-Dean
Posted by:Seeing as I don't have sufficient funds to afford such a luxury as to buy a book like this right now, I figure I might as well give this a shot. I just recently (within the last 3 months) started voice acting, so any sort of help or informational resources I can acquire would be perfect, especially from two experts such as Randy and Peter.

I'd love to win this book! It looks great...
Posted by:Stephanie-
Don LaFontaine was a mentor and friend and was the reason I pursued this career. One of the first things he offered me in the way of advice was to get 2 books that happen to be highly regarded by big wigs in the industry...The Art of Voice Acting and Secrets of Voiceover Success. This book seems to be on par and I cannot wait to read it. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to add Voice for Hire to my library of voiceover industry books. Thank you for the opportunity.
Posted by:Sounds like a great read - count me in!

Posted by:I have been a fan of Randy Thomas and her lovely voice for a long time. The first time I heard her was doing a new version of Bill Cosby and Art Linkletter and his "Kids Say The Darndest Things". I immediately thought she had the most beautiful voice and was so pleased for her when I heard her voice for the Academy Awards as well as the Emmy's, Tony's and her work for Entertainment Tonight. I would really LOVE to win her book because I am POSITIVE it is a fantastic book and since she is someone I aspire to be I think I can learn a ton from it.
Thanks for the opportunity to leave my comment!!
