I'm a professional voice actor. I live in Buenos Aires but I'm a New Zealander. I've supplied voiceovers for Sci-Fi Channel UK, The Travel Channel UK and Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. Can do straight and character work, and am currently supplying character voices for an animated series. To be honest, I'm a bit skeptical about this service. $300 smackeroos seems a lot to lay out without even so much as a week's trial. Seems a great way to take money from hopefuls who may never get any work. In my experience, REAL acting agent's don't charge upfront fees. They are confident enough in what they do to make money by taking a commission. That's decades of experience and cynicism talking, but maybe you can prove me wrong!

When the article is written in the trades it will say...But Jim Raposa's voice-over career hit the highest of heights when he won a year's membership to voices.com. That's when producers caught sight (ear) of his versatility behind a mic...etc, etc.
Why not? Sometimes you can catch lightning in a bottle. The next highly sought after voice-over performer is as close as your mouse and keyboard. Will it be you or me?
This would make my YEAR. Maybe even DECADE. :-)
Of all of the Saturday Giveaways I've seen, NONE beat the response to this one as best I can tell.
Since everyone else is saying they are "in". Perhaps I would have a better shot by saying:
HECK NO, I don't want a Premium Membership to some unknown online casting site that never shows any interest in helping voice actors or those seeking to hire them. Why would I want to be associated with an unproven business that says it uses some thing called the internet to deliver auditions to voice talent...that's silly...that couldn't work. We are supposed to get in our cars and go to local studios to audition or to our agents office in L.A. or NY to get behind the mic...all other areas of the country are out of luck.
For crying out loud, you would think the way these folks at Voices.com talk, they can actually send multiple auditions a day "electronically" no less, and then a person could, somehow, audition from home and potentially book enough work to provide for their family...all off of a web site (whatever that is) called Voices.com? I suppose the next thing you're gonna say is that Voices.com could help me build a repeat client base which makes up about 90% of my monthly income...come on!
Nah.....nope...not me......I'm not in! Too risky...
REMEMBER: If all this sounds to good to be true....

We all recognize the significant value of Voices.com for our careers, and the variety of things you do to promote the site and the talents is nothing short of AMAZING!
At the risk of knocking myself out of the running, I have to say I like Jim Raposa's style! He already is visualizing the success following his winning entry. The first step in achieving any goal is to visualize its successful conclusion. Obviously, when you and David first visualized Voices.com, you saw the future of the voice-over industry!

It would be a real thrill and a blessing to win a one-year membership for voices.com. My budget has simply not allowed me to be able to pay for premium service on a similar site (which my frustrations with that site led me to voices.com) and it's killing me to know I have the talent, the training, and the experience to be a successful voiceover artist and not be able to submit auditions simply because I can't afford the premium service right now.
Although I just now signed up with a voices.com profile, I've been a regular visitor to this site for the blog and the great resources this site offers, and I've recommended the site to a number of fellow VO artists as well.
And this is likely going to sound like kissing up to win this, but over the next week I'm going to be actively promoting voices.com via the VO sites and forums I'm a member of and doing some web marketing for voices.com via a directory I'm an editor for in order to increase web traffic exponentially for a site that is well-deserving of such broad exposure.
