Posted by:I am so glad I opened my email this morning and saw the Vox Daily in my inbox. I have always been interested in doing voiceovers and I firmly believe that a voice can portray all sorts of emotions and help a person 'see' what they are hearing. A little lesson in acting could only help!

I would love to win this book by Paul Russell! I have been trying to get into voice overs for almost a year. To date I have submitted over 400 auditions without a single request for work..
This is a whole new world for me and I think I can do it very well. Over the years I have done some radio and television work. A few years ago I worked at a local FM station for six weeks while their morning man had heart surgery. I enjoyed it very much. People were very complimentary about my voice. I have a spot running right now for a hamburger place that I did about three years ago.
The reason I want to win this book is that so much has changed in the business in the last few years from a technical well as a preforming point of view. With this book I feel that I could learn the things I need to learn so that I can become competitive. For instance the pace of the wording has picked up and I need to grasp that idea. There also has been a tremendous change in the technical aspect. I can cut a spot and convert it to an MP3 and ship it out but there is so much more now and, being away "from the bright lights" so to speak, I am at a disadvantage. I live in Longview, Texas, and just about all of the local voice acting is done by the DJs at the local radio stations. I have visited them along with the local advertising companies and they are very encouraging but so far, no responses.
Let me say once again, I would certainly like to win Paul Russell's book. I would put it to good use and make you proud of me!

Well, I'd like to comment, but do I have to really make a comment, or can I act like I really want to make a comment, just so I can win stuff? After all, it's about acting right? Riiiight. Anyways, I think what y'all are doin is really great, and I'd sure like a chance to win one o' them there actin' tips cause Lord knows I really need to git some tips n' stuff. See? There I go again, actin' and playin' like I know how to do regionalisms n' stuff.....dang. Anyways, let me know if I win, kay?
