Do you remember this video performed by the comedy group, Poykpac?

Voice Talkers: Living the Dream of a Voice Actor has become one of the most talked about voice over videos.

This week, we are going to take a look at some of the most popular videos from our industry as they appear on YouTube.

Watch Voice Talkers and also discover some cool facts about the cast here on today's VOX Daily!

Voice Talkers

If you haven't seen Voice Talkers, you're in for a treat!

Fans of Z100's (NYC radio station) Dave Foxx will particularly enjoy Voice Talkers. To give you some context, Taige Jensen is Dave Foxx's son in real life... the two are also playing father and son in the video.

Why did Taige Jensen and his crew make this video? Poykpac had entered a contest on YouTube. One of the criteria was that they had to incorporate the word "indubitably" into their script. Long story short, they chose to go at it from the voice over angle and their video won 2nd place in YouTube.com's Sketchies 2 contest in 2008. I followed their progress early on and was pleased to share the video with our community around the time of their win.

Voice Talkers Cast

Grover - Taige Jensen
Dad - Dave Foxx (Taige's dad)
Carol - Jenn Lyon
Brother - Maggie Ross
Producer - Ryan Hall
Engineer - Ryan Hunter

Does This Hit Too Close to Home?

Many voice over pros agree that Voice Talkers hits close to home. What do you think? Do you see your life, or parts of it, reflected in the video?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Best wishes,

Stephanie

Love this video, I sent it all over the place last year. The cast and concept are brilliant at mocking stereotypical voiceover.
Will somebody please tell me what Carol's last line is, in the side effects list, "...severe failure, and in rare cases.."
    Is the line 'some dying?'

      Hi Vicki,

Thanks for commenting! Yes, the line (disclaimer) that Carol says near the end does say "and some dying."

I hope you enjoy the rest of the videos, too :)

      Best wishes,

      Stephanie

This is great - how did you know that I'd unsuccessfully tried to google this just last week? Thanks for sharing here :-)

Indubitably is such a tongue twister..

Thanks for existing on the internet and being there when I just randomly searched for some low brow entertainment.

          Keep blogging,

          Curtis
