Andy Boyns has started a new podcast series that takes a look at the person behind the voice, profiling a number of voice actors and personalities.

While at VOICE 2010, Andy graciously extended opportunities to many people to be interviewed and to share their story.

Getting To Know The People Behind the Voices

Andy Boyns (pictured above on the right with Bob Bergen on the left), a British voice over artist based out of Turkey, has been fascinated by what drives successful people in voice overs and how the journeys that led them to where they are. Andy is also a member of Voices.com and the winner of our slogan contest, coining our slogan, "We Say it For You."

Prior to VOICE 2010, Andy approached me for an interview and I was thrilled to participate. The interviews Andy did in LA were so good and the concept of his podcast so interesting that I wanted to share it with you.

Episodes You Can Listen to Right Now!

Andy has published a number of his interviews in audio form and as transcriptions. These are the interviews that are currently available online:

This is great stuff, folks. Andy has tapped into the VO community deeply to plumb the riches of experience and dedication to present a series of podcasts that are second to none. If the drive and inspiration of Bob Bergen doesn't get you then the quiet dedication of Dave Courvoisier must surely be your cup of tea...
It's a great opportunity to pick the brains of the cream of the voice over crop...enjoy (and learn)!

Just as I was zipping out the hotel door, I saw your article pop up on my iPad screen. I wanted to sent kudos out to both of you for sharing so many interesting interviews, in this case, a written interview about Andy, who is sharing podcast interviews about many wonderful VO folks, recorded at VOICE 2010. It's lovely to hear their voices again! Very clever, you two, and very well done!

Great stuff from Andy. I just lstened to the interview with Bob Bergen. It was very insightful and also very inspiring. I signed up for the blog emails and will listen to more of these for sure!

As for Bob... a total class act. He talked about Casey Kasem telling him to "pay it forward"... and Bob does do that all the time. He has has given me advice in the past and I know that if I have another question for him, he would be happy to answer it.

Keep up the good work Andy!

Andy is a fantastic interviewer, and that's not as easy as it sounds. I had a wonderful time talking with him in L. A. A very enjoyable series. Thanks, Andy!

Thanks for all these kind comments, and for Stephanie sharing the links...

This started by accident, but has turned into something both fun and, I hope, inspirational. We all have a story which includes highs and lows, and I'm awestruck by how generously people are sharing the details of their journeys.

Stay tuned, there's lots more to come... and if I haven't asked you for your story yet you'll have more to share when I do :-)
