Social Media for the Arts is an unconference being held in London, Ontario Canada on Saturday November 27th, 2010.
SMArts incorporates all elements of the arts including visual arts, the performing arts and more.
One of the sessions will be about how audio, specifically voice over, is used on the web and through mobile applications.
Find out more about this presentation and how you can attend in today's VOX Daily.
This Saturday, I'll be speaking at SMArts, that is Social Media for the Arts, on the topic of "Opportunities for Voice Artists in New Media: How voice is used on the Internet and mobile applications."
Voices On The Go
Areas to be discussed include podcasting, web, audiobooks, apps and more. The session will last about an hour and is broken up into two parts.
Voices You Should Know
Following the formal aspect of the presentation, an interactive discussion about social networking opportunities for the voice acting community in London and its surrounding area will take place.
A local-based networking group for voice actors will be introduced alongside a Facebook page to keep in touch with the voice over community in our region.
This is a must attend session for anyone who wants to learn more about how the spoken word is impacting mobile technologies as well as those aspiring to do voice overs and individuals who are already doing voice over.
If you're in London, Canada for SMArts, I hope you'll come take part! The event is free to attend and will take place at Museum London.
The sessions will be live-streamed so even if you aren't physically here with us, you can still participate. Also watch Twitter for the hash tag #smartsldn10.

Vox Daily offers a daily dose of voice acting news, articles, tutorials, interviews, intelligent conversation and business ideas for voice talent and voice actors.
Becoming a voice actor, working from your own home recording studio and auditioning for voice-over jobs is within your reach!
I got all excited...then realised it was London, Ontario not London, England! Maybe virtual attendance then...
Enjoy the unconference.
