    Not sure where these fit on the list but:

    * You can give yourself a bonus for showing up to work on time 3 days in a row.

    * Three hour lunches, baby!!!

    * You're expected to spend time on Twitter and Facebook.

    * Depreciation, depreciation, depreciation!

      My favorite reasons include:
      ~ No boss or manager invading my space. Just my cool cat, Bunzo.
      ~ Being able to leave the studio/house whenever to chauffeur and help out with the busy lives of three active teenagers while taking pressure off a hard-working wife
      ~ A daily outing to Tim Hortons
      ~ Scrabble on Facebook
      ~ No commuting during a Canadian winter. I will be shoveling after submitting this:)
      ~ Sports on TV - and in person! (my son has a Senior Boys Tournament game at 2:45 Thursday and I'll be there)

      Cheers!

            ...because in 'The Hole' there is no limit to the lunacy! I can pray, praise, raise a ruckus, emote, promote, denote, wear a coat, wear my Cardinals hat--backward! I can voice epics, cartoons, epic cartoons, documentaries, games, commercials, etc with gestures, grimaces, grunts and groans while stopping and starting and stopping and starting again.
            Probably the most important reason I love working in 'The Hole' is the sometimes sporadic, sometimes unexpected, always welcome visits from my family...

              1. I can help my live-in boyfriend with his home based business.
              2. I can watch my daughter get off the bus each afternoon.
              3. I can take a quick afternoon bike ride for a boost of energy.
              4. I save on gas/upkeep for my vehicle.
              5. I can research my marketing efforts at my own pace.
              6. I can participate in webinars whenever I want.
              7. I can wear my "bunny" slippers all day long.
              8. I am here to assist elderly neighbors when they are in need.
              9. I can say hello to my mail carrier every day.
              10. I keep regular business hours, sometimes extended, but staying on task, keeping focused and living the dream that I have wanted for many, many years. =)

                You are so right!

                My favorite...able to stay in my comfy jammies...doing auditions and bookings and feeling really 'relaxed'! Kitties and puppy snoozing in studio (no bells or collars )...No stress...no traffic jams...!

                Absolutely can't beat that!
                Love my job!!!!

                  Stephanie , (Ralph and Dan)
                  You've certainly hit the most salient benefits of working from home. I might add that the profit margins of your voiceover business have better odds because of the low overhead versus an off-site space. I also love my flexibility.

                  One thing I've found is many times I'll work longer and harder, because my work space is so convenient, so I must discipline myself to unplug after 12 hours. But time flies when you're having fun, right?

                    I personally think that the quick turnaround-ability is a key benefit to working from home, a lot of businesses really appreciate that!

                    Also creating the space that works for you for both for comfort and sound quality.

                      I think you hit the nail on the head with the weather conditions concerns. It's great knowing neither my husband or myself will have to brave the elements (and bad drivers) in slick conditions, plus on sunny days we're still doing the environment good by keeping the car in the garage (and saving gas money, too!). We get the tax benefits of having a place in our home specific to our work, without having to pay additional overhead for a storefront or office space, and the furbabies are an added bonus, for sure! Win-win-WIN!

                        It sounds like you have the best of both worlds. I would love to pull off working from home in this industry. I think your ten reasons to do it are more than enough to convince anyone that this is a good choice.

                          At last I work with my preferred kind of computer (Mac), build day by day on my capacities, use emotion freely as a gift instead of feeling obliged to seem conventional, above all I'm directly answerable to myself and family. Oh and yes Crystina - when it's time to relax, I just stroke the cat on my desk. Purr!
