man-rock-climbing-overcoming-struggle.jpgDo you ever feel like all you can do is take things one day at a time?

I've found that to be true for me as we continue to try to find a balance and adjust to life with a baby at home.

We All Struggle

If you've ever had a newborn in your home, you know how their arrival can affect everything from how your prioritize your day to what you are able to commit to. You're sleeping less, have little to no time to yourself and many of the activities you used to enjoy are put on the back burner if given any attention whatsoever.

Fortunately in the midst of our new normal there has also been renewed strength. Though nights may be filled with struggles, joy comes in the morning and affirms that our struggles are worth it. In the words of author and motivational speaker Zig Ziglar, Where there's struggle, there's life.

I read Ziglar's book Embrace The Struggle a year or so ago and feel that what he has to share and the sentiments presented here can apply to any circumstance or reality, not just to having a new baby in the house.

Your struggle may be physical, emotional, psychological or spiritual; know that each one can be conquered.

Embracing Your Struggle

Some of you might be struggling because your body or voice is failing you and everything you do work wise, whether an audition or voicing a job you booked, poses a very real challenge.

Even if you feel as though you can't make it to the end of each day or that you can't see beyond an hour at a time, perseverance goes a long way as does faith and trusting that each new day will bring something better with it.

We're only given what we can handle, and with that assurance, each day we're allotted can be survived! As this summer draws to a close, I am constantly reminding myself of that fact having nearly survived two months of the kids being home from school.

Did Anything I Say Resonate With You?

Best wishes,

Stephanie

...Great read, Stephanie! It reminds me of the epic struggle in the biblical story of Jacob. He wrestled with God's angel all night and demanded a blessing. He knew he couldn't defeat celestial power, but he held on until the angel ended the fight--and gave him the blessing he so desired. Tenacity has it's own reward...

        Thanks Stephanie! ...and amen.

Your thoughts brought to mind something one of my college professors repeatedly told his students:
There are only 2 things in life you should never worry about --
        1. The things you CAN'T change. 2. The things you CAN change.

        Blessings...

Thanks for the boost Stephanie--in a people business, often taking time to remember that the people you work with will have some good days, some bad, and it might be you that makes someone's day all the better with something you do or say. Finishing up teaching summer art camp, and starting another school year a little over a week from now, I'm reminded of your words each day--one of my students, or their parents, may be struggling with a challenge at home, or school, and I'm lucky enough to be in a position to teach, to encourage, and to let them know that "perseverance goes a long way as does faith and trusting that each new day will bring something better with it." Stay strong!

Hi Stephanie - My current idol for perseverance is a gutsy, 40-ish former English stockbroker, Roz Savage, who has rowed - yes rowed - alone across the Atlantic, the Pacific, and currently about half way from Australia to Mumbai, India.

She writes daily about perseverance and walks the talk with every stroke of her oars. I know many for whom she is one tremendous role model.

            Here is her website: http://www.rozsavage.com/

All peace and blessings for you and yours.

              Hi Stephanie:

I can really relate to all that you said today. Life seems to be a constant struggle at times. But, we do seem to acquire the strength to get through the particular circumstances of the moment. I have to believe that it is God's grace for which I am so very thankful.

Anyway, one day at a time is the only way to cope. Continue to be happy and don't forget to be thankful for our many blessings too. You are a special person and you and your family will be just fine.

Thanks for all you do in your work life too.

Today, I will try on my own to record again with my new system. I have had a lot of help from the many angels put in my life to help me through the maze of it all. Hopefully, you will have the same.

                Dear Stephanie,

Your message of 8/24, "Embrace The Struggle" is exactly what I needed to read today. I am just developing my small business and am overwhelmed with all the details one must address even prior to any voice over work.

                God bless you.
                Betty
