Do you know what it's like to make a new friend?
Starting friendships in the voice acting business can be easy given you have so much in common that nearly no one outside of voice-over understands.
I happened to find a quote that puts words to the moment a friendship begins and thought you might enjoy it!
If this post resonates with you, add your thoughts as a comment on today's VOX Daily.
Trying to explain what you do as a voice actor to someone outside of the industry can be a challenging task, but when you are amongst your own, words aren't even necessary to make a connection.
When voice actors get together, friendships can form quickly because you share a common passion and desire to share the spoken word with others.
People who are of a like mind, at the same stage of life or in the same career tend to flock together. When they first meet, platonic sparks fly and a friendship is born! The narrower your interest, the stronger your cause or the greater your passion for what you do, the deeper your connections with those birds of a feather can be.
"Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: 'What! You too? I thought I was the only one.'"
― C.S. Lewis
How would you describe the feeling of making a friend?
