Do you ever wonder how you can find joy in the midst of deadlines, debt, drama and daily duties?
Ann Voskamp has.
Author of the New York Times Bestseller, One Thousand Gifts, Voskamp penned a book addressing how to do just that and dares you to live fully right where you are.
In a day and age where culture tells us we should do more, be more and get more, isn't it refreshing to hear that we can be content with what we already have?
Hear more in today's VOX Daily.
What if by giving thanks for the life you already have, you can find the life you have always wanted?
Ann Voskamp, a wife and mother of six homeschooled children, made the time to write a book from her family farm that has found its way into the libraries and hearts of those searching for meaning and purpose in the day-to-day happenings of their lives.
After finishing the first chapter of One Thousand Gifts, I have been moved within pages to tears and hopeful expectation as she prepares the reader to join her on a journey of choosing God's grace and being grateful no matter the circumstance.
As voice artists, one gift that you may count on your list is the gift of your voice with the ability to use it well. Your business could be another gift in addition to the support you receive from others to pursue your dreams.
Gifts come wrapped in all kinds of packaging, some more welcome than others, yet all are gifts. Consider the following quote in relation to how we respond to what enters into our lives:
"One act of thanksgiving, when things go wrong with us, is worth a thousand thanks when things are agreeable to our inclinations."
- St. John of Avila
Being aware of the blessings in our life is one thing but jotting them down to see and reflect upon is another.
Writing things down, at least for me, allows for mere thoughts to take on a whole new dynamic and become more concrete.
I wonder what would happen if you put pen to paper and really thought about all of the amazing things around you that cause you to smile...
Are there 1000 things for which you are grateful?
Looking forward to hearing from you as always.
