Kurt Feldner on the All My Love (for You) Childrens App

By Lin Parkin

Kurt Feldner - 1025 x 768.jpgOn Sunday, June 16th Fathers across the Nation will be celebrated. Often the voice of reason and authority, Fathers are also patient, kind and caring. They share their wisdom, laughter, and love with their children - young or fully grown.

A terrific way for Fathers to spend time with their families is reading with their children. In our house, my husband and I each read a story to our young son every night before he heads off to bed. It is a way for us to bond as a family with a quiet, comforting activity.

To that note, we discovered recently that one of our talent members, Kurt Feldner, worked on a lovely project for CotCotCot-apps, a Belgium based Voices.com client, narrating "All My Love (for You)," a children's story app. We wanted to find out more about it, just in time for Father's Day.

Join us as Kurt talks about the app and what it was like working on this project.

Voices.com's Responsive Design Site

Today marks a new beginning for Voices.com. We've just launched a brand new website that's been designed taking a "mobile first" approach. That's right, the site has been carefully thought through with mobile devices in mind. That means we've also tested quite heavily on mobile devices such as the iPhone, iPad, Galaxy SIII and BlackBerry.

With all the brainstorming sessions, planning meetings, designing, coding and testing behind us, I wanted to pause to recognize our team and highlight why these improvements are so significant for you, the community of Voices.com.

Voices.com talent showcase, Alex Warner, Diane Bean, J. Michael CollinsSomething we strive toward improving on a regular basis is the overall speed of our website. We want you to be able to have the best experience possible when using Voices.com and part of that involves page load time decreasing dramatically.

Over the last couple weeks, we have been making tweaks here and there to speed up how quickly certain pages on our site load. Part of this has to do with design. Just last night, we made a move to new servers that will help us speed up the site significantly.

Today, you have the opportunity to be one of the first to preview Voices.com's new home page and do a short test (you don't have to study in advance!).

Let us know what you think of the proposed changes by taking the 5 Second Test found linked in this post!

iPad for Audio Recording

By David Ciccarelli

iPad

What's new on the audio recording horizon?

By this point, I'm sure most of the techies and Apple fans out there have heard of and perhaps even purchased an Apple iPad.

For the uninitiated, the iPad is a mobile device used to create and consume digital media with a gorgeous 9.7 inch display. Similar to the popular iPhone, the iPad has touch-screen technology that let's you interact with the computer without a mouse or keyword.

What makes the iPad different from others in its category are the thousands of "apps" or applications. On launch day, there were 1,000 iPad apps including ones for audio recording, audio editing and file hosting. This begs the question, did you buy an iPad and if so, will you be using it for recording auditions or even broadcast ready digital audio recordings?

Voices.com's Mobile Website

By David Ciccarelli

Voices.com for Apple iPhone, iPod Touch and iPadThe mobile space is awash in applications, or "apps," as they are commonly called. On the heels of Apple's success with the App Store, unveiled in July 2008, other device manufacturers and operating system providers, including BlackBerry and the Android platform championed by Google, opened their own virtual storefronts.

As a result, people feel emboldened to do more with their mobile devices. eMarketer, the Internet market research firm, projects that mobile Internet access, through either traditional browsers or installed applications, will see significant gains over the next five years, reaching 134.3 million mobile Internet users in 2013 in the United States.

Today, we are proud to announce the first version of the Voices.com mobile website, located at http://m.voices.com.
